This highly creative project at the Rednock School involved the formation of a dramatic three storey, egg shaped ‘pod’ within the school premises. The construction was based around a new steel framework, onto which Gillespie built a metsec framework fitting plasterboard around the egg shaped structure. Gillespie took on the challenge of producing the complex drawings incorporating curves on a sequence of different planes, and then taking the drawings through to the manufacture in GRG and on-site installation. Gillespie finished all the exterior edges around the windows, doorways and top and base levels in curved GRG, leaving surfaces ready for the painting and final finishes. |
